Wax batik art is a traditional African technique from Mozambique used to create beautiful and intricate designs on fabric like the ones available in our collection. The process involves applying wax to the fabric in specific areas to create a resist, preventing dyes from penetrating those areas.
The artist would start by sketching the design onto the fabric. Then, hot wax is applied to the areas where the artist wants to preserve the original color of the fabric. Once the wax is applied, the fabric is submerged into a dye bath resulting in vibrant and colorful patterns. The fabric is then removed from the dye bath and allowed to dry.
Whether displayed on a wall, placed on a table, or even used as a centerpiece, these art pieces would instantly brighten up any space and add a touch of artistic flair to your home.
